Growing up in Appleton, Wisconsin, I began studying music at the age of three, when my mom taught me piano. I started playing bass at the age of nine in my elementary school orchestra, and began private lessons a couple of years later. Shortly after beginning high school, my family moved to Los Gatos, California, where I played in my school's jazz ensemble, and marching band, in addition to orchestra. Some of the youth orchestras I played in include the Fox Valley Symphony Youth Orchestra, San Jose Youth Symphony, and San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra. Currently a student at the Eastman School of Music, I am studying under Professor James VanDemark while pursuing a BM in Double Bass Performance.
