Njya Lubang is a fourth-year double bassist at Bard College and Conservatory originally from Aurora, Illinois. In the college she is a history major with an interest in Asian studies. She is currently studying with Satoshi Okamoto of the New York Philharmonic and previously studied with Jeremy McCoy formerly of the Metropolitan Opera. Njya had the opportunity to study with Tracy Rowell at Bowdoin International Music Festival (2025) as well as travel with the Bard East West Ensemble on tours to D.C. (2023) and China (2025).
