Noah Vin
Cello

Noah Vin is a cellist who currently studies at the New England Conservatory of Music with Professor Julie Albers. Before going to NEC, Noah studied under Jonathan Koh in California. He has won multiple awards and competitions, some of which include the YoungArts, VOCE, and the Junior Bach competition. A lover of orchestral music, Noah joined the Golden State Youth Orchestra when he was only seven, where he stayed until he was 18, eventually becoming the principal of the Senior Symphony for the last four years. He performed his debut with the Golden State Youth Orchestra when he was 15. GSYO awarded Noah the Maestro Jindong Cai Student Achievement award, the highest award for his contributions to the orchestra. Along with GSYO, Noah was the principal of his high school orchestra for his full four years there, playing in festivals like the Midwest Clinic and Casmec. Noah also participated in the California All-State Symphony for three years during his time in high school. Noah won first place in a concerto competition with his school district during his senior year of high school, allowing him to play the Elgar Cello Concerto in Carnegie Hall's Stern Auditorium as a part of the Carnegie Hall Music Festival. At NEC, Noah played principal cello for the NEC Symphony during his sophomore year. Along with orchestral playing, Noah is an avid chamber music player, participating in the Cal Music Prep chamber academy for seven years before going to NEC. During his summers, Noah has attended festivals such as the Bowdoin Music Festival, Summer@Eastman, the Boulder Cello Festival, and Chautauqua. Throughout the years, Noah has played in Masterclasses with cellists such as Brinton Averil Smith, Amos Yang, Alan Harris, Brannon Cho, and Hans Jørgen Jensen. Noah plays on a 1910 Pistucci with an Ouchard Bow.
