Christopher Wheaton is a violinist pursuing his studies at Florida State University under the guidance of Shannon Thomas. He also studies privately with Elicia Silverstein and Ryan Meehan. Christopher is a section violinist with the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra and has participated in masterclasses with David Bowlin, Jinjoo Cho, Benjamin Beilman and Jeffrey Myers. In 2024, he was named the College Division winner of the John Leatherwood Concerto Competition, earning the opportunity to perform as a soloist with the Northwest Florida Symphony Orchestra. He has attended Center Stage Strings Summer Camp in 2021 and 2023, Mike Block String Camp in 2024 and 2025 and Calidore String Quartet Seminar in 2026. Outside of violin, Christopher enjoys singing, arranging, songwriting, and reading.
