Jamie Walton Jr is a versatile trumpet performer who exemplifies musical fluidity in both the classical and jazz realm. He uses his talents to open opportunities to reach a wide range of demographics in methods that are creative and interactive while maintaining the integrity of the genres presented. His musical journey commenced in Cleveland, Ohio where he earned his bachelor's degree at The Cleveland Institute of Music under the direction of Jack Sutte, Michael Miller, Matthew Ernst, and Michael Sachs. Jamie dedicated his time outside of school performing in Ohio’s regional orchestras, Chamber Ensembles, Jazz combos, Big bands, as well as ensembles of his own creation. He also dedicated his time to teach and mentor students at multiple schools and musical establishments including students of his own. Jamie has had some experience on the T.V Screen involving a feature on PBS’s “Chautauqua at 150: Wynton Marsalis’ All Rise” showcasing his orchestral ability as well as his involvement with Chautauqua's collaboration with Wynton Marsalis. He has also participated in other summer festivals such as Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra Brass Institute and Chosen Vale’s Trumpet Seminar. In addition to his academic successes, he has performed as a featured artist with The Ocean City Pops Orchestra and Firelands Symphony Orchestra.
