Zoe Brooks
Mezzo-Soprano

Zoe Brooks is a Russian-American mezzo soprano and native New Yorker. Having recently completed her undergraduate studies at SUNY Purchase, Zoe made her professional debut as Moth in Tim Albery’s production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream at the Opera Theatre of Saint Louis as a member of their 2025 Gerdine Young Artist Program. While in her first year at Purchase, Zoe appeared as Cherubino in the conservatory’s mainstage production of Le Nozze di Figaro. Her performance as the title character of Ambroise Thomas’ Hamlet awarded Purchase the National Opera Association award for best production, in which her vocal command was praised. Her other credits at Purchase include the titular roles of Hänsel and Poppea. Zoe was a member of the 2023 Chautauqua Opera Conservatory, where she performed the role of La Libellule in Marcus Shield’s production of L’enfant et les sortilèges. She has received awards from numerous competitions, including Opera Index, the John Alexander National Vocal Competition with Opera Mississippi, and the Schmidt Vocal Competition.
