Elizabeth Palumbo, known for her “warm, vibrant voice and positive spirit,” is a 19- year-old Italian American soprano born and raised in the suburbs of New Jersey. After winning her local county fair competition at age 10, and at 12 inspired by visiting the Metropolitan opera, Elizabeth then started cultivating her gift to pursue opera. A sophomore at Northwestern University, she studies under world-renowned soprano Nancy Gustafson and Beth Roberts.  
 
Elizabeth recently performed as Barbarina in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro with Chautauqua Opera Conservatory and as Lucia in the Lucia di Lammermoor Sexteto and as the Second Woman in Manuel de Falla’s La vida breve. At Northwestern University, she was appointed to the executive board of OPUS (Opera Projects for Undergraduate Singers) and has appeared as Véronique in Bizet’s Le docteur Miracle and Kate in The Pirates of Penzance. She has also performed numerous roles at Interlochen Arts Academy, including Mrs. Keeps in the world premiere of Edmonia, the Witch in Hänsel und Gretel, Belinda in Dido and Aeneas, and Musetta in La Bohème, among others. Earning 2nd place in the 2023 Schmidt Vocal Competition and taking 1st place in fall 2023, Elizabeth became a national finalist at the Sarasota Opera House in the summer of 2024. Elizabeth is eager to learn, grow and thrive as a singer with her positive attitude and passion for creating art.
