Twenty-one-year-old Edward Su began learning piano at the age of seven. He participated in the Donna Fishwick Piano Ensemble from 2009-2014, and has studied privately with Flavio Formigoni, Donna Fishwick, and Ian Parker. Edward is the consistent winner of scholarships and trophies in many music festivals and competitions. He won second place in the Canadian Music Competition (CMC) in 2015, and received the Most Promising Pianist award in the Richmond Music Festival 2016. In 2017, Edward completed the RCM ARCT piano exam with 94%, as well as three gold medals in the past: Grade 6 in 2011, Grade 9 in 2013 and Grade 10 in 2015. In 2019, he won the Vancouver Academy of Music Concerto Competition, and received the opportunity to perform Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2 1st movement with the Vancouver Academy of Music orchestra live at the Orpheum Theatre. Edward now studies with Prof. Natalya Antonova at the Eastman School of Music.
Edward is the recipient of The Maurita Holland and Roger Chard Scholarship for Piano, The Rachel W. Eaton Scholarship, and The Eleanor B. Daugherty Scholarship Fund.
