Peijun Wang
Piano

Pianist Peijun Wang has been studying piano for eleven years, since the age of eight; his former teachers include Tianying Zhao and Zhe Tang. He is currently an undergraduate student at the Eastman School of Music pursuing a Bachelor of Music degree in piano performance with Alexander Kobrin. He has attended many music festivals in the past, including the Shanghai International Piano Festival & Institute Committee in 2014 and 2016, “Silk Road” International Piano Festival &Academy in 2015, European Piano Festival in the summer of 2017, and the 2019 North Coast Piano Festival. Before coming to the United States, he was a prize winner in several competitions in China, including third prizes in the 2015 Shanghai Piano Open Competition, the 4th Internationaler Deutscher Irmier -Klavierwettbewerb in Qingdao, Shanghai Spring International Music Festival, and first prize in the 2018 Pearl River Heilmann International Piano Art Festival. He has performed in masterclasses for Douglas Humpherys, Barry Snyder, Antonio Pompa-Baldi, Kathryn Brown, Olga Kern, Deborah Moriaty, Zhihua Tang, Danwen Wei and Alan Chow.

Peijun is the recipient of the Mr. and Mrs. Don Greenhouse Scholarship, The Luella Morris Forney Memorial Scholarship, and the Chautauqua General Scholarship.
