Daniel Gross has proudly served as the cantor of Adat Shalom Synagogue in Farmington Hills, Michigan since 2009. A dynamic performer, Hazzan Gross is acclaimed for his warm, lyric baritone voice. A graduate of the Juilliard Opera Center and the Pittsburgh Opera Center, he has performed on the stages of the Glimmerglass, Wolf Trap, Chautauqua, Pittsburgh, and Gotham Chamber operas, as well as at Bard SummerScape and the Spoleto Festival USA. As an oratorio soloist, Gross has appeared with the National Symphony Orchestra, the Pittsburgh Symphony, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the New World Symphony and the Manhattan School of Music Philharmonia. An avid recitalist, he has concertized under the auspices of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, Great Lakes Chamber Music Festival, Chamber Music Northwest, the Focus Festival, Joy in Singing and the Garden City Chamber Music Society. An accomplished composer, his composition I Believe – A Shoah Requiem, a complete musical liturgy for Yom HaShoah, premiered on April 2013 at Detroit's Orchestra Hall. Hazzan Gross is a passionate proponent of interfaith programming, involved in numerous interfaith initiatives throughout the Detroit area, and serves on the Executive Committee of the Coalition For Black & Jewish Unity.
