Sarah Yang picked up the violin at three years old and hasn’t put it down since. She began her training with her parents, both violin instructors until, at the age of ten, she began studies with the distinguished pedagogue Almita Vamos. A sensitive performer who seeks connection, Yang was afforded many opportunities to connect through her studies with Vamos, including placing in the American Protege International Competition and the Governor’s Honors Program. Sarah recently graduated from Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, where she did her graduate studies studying under Simin Ganatra, a member of the Pacifica Quartet. She recently performed the Barber Violin Concerto in recital, as well as the Brahms Trio with two of her peers in the Jacobs School of Music chamber recital. She finished her undergraduate studies at Chicago College of Performing Arts studying under Vamos in 2021.
Sarah is the recipient of the Elmer S. and H. Lorraine Sachse Scholarship Fund.
