Owne Xayboury, is a 19 year old violist from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, entering the 2nd year of his Bachelors at the Manhattan School of Music, under the tutelage of Molly Carr and Daniel Avshalomov. All throughout high school, Owne was an active member of the Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra, where he functioned as the principal violist of the Chamber Orchestra, and of the Senior Symphony. In 2021, he won first place in the Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition, where he made his debut with the symphony. The year after, Owne placed runner-up in the Walter A & Dorothy J Oestreich Concerto Competition, and honorable mention in the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra’s Stars of Tomorrow. Additionally, he received learning-opportunities under renowned string musicians and an opportunity to perform with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra’s concertmaster, Frank Almond, performing Mozart’s Divertimento for string quartet in D major. And in 2019 and 4 years respectively, he received the Janet Fleming Ruggeri Scholarship for Young Violists. In the future, Owne Xayboury aims to become a concert soloist, educator, or a member of a string quartet or symphony.
Owne is the recipient of The Arlene Hajinlian Music Scholarship and the Chadwick Young Scholarship.
