Fernando Silva-Gorbea
Tenor

The tenor Fernando Silva-Gorbea was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico in 1999. He started his vocal studies at 15 y/o with Eileen Larracuente, a mezzo-soprano who helped him get into the Conservatorio de Música de Puerto Rico’s (CMPR) undergrad program in Vocal Performance in 2017. Since, Fernando has participated with the Puerto Rico Symphony Orchestra in pieces like Manuel de Falla’s “La vida breve” (2019), he did his debut in Mexico later that year with a series of concerts in the region of Baja California. Having graduated in 2022 from the CMPR, Silva-Gorbea went on to continue his graduate studies at Manhattan School of Music (MSM) where he currently studies under James Morris and will continue his second year of masters in Classical Voice. Fernando is currently in the Chautauqua Opera Conservatory program where he has been hard at work with his role of Rinuccio in Giacomo Puccini’s “Gianni Schicchi”

Fernando is the recipient of the Bluie & Kitty Greenberg Voice Scholarship.
