Jocelyn Zhang
Flute

Jocelyn Zhang is a versatile flutist who values connecting with audience members and fellow musicians through her heartfelt and sensitive approach to music. Jocelyn frequently appears with the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music Philharmonia Orchestra on both flute and piccolo. She has spent summers honing her skills as a chamber musician and orchestral player at Domaine Forget International Music Academy and Trentino Music Festival. As a soloist, Jocelyn won first place in the Alberta Provincial Festival two years in a row and represented the province of Alberta in the Federation of Canadian Music Festivals national competition. In addition to her performance career, Jocelyn holds a strong passion for teaching. She currently maintains a private studio consisting of students of all ages and levels, where she focuses on fostering a warm and welcoming learning environment. Jocelyn earned her master’s degree from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and is currently pursuing an Artist Diploma under the tutelage of Demarre McGill. She completed her bachelor’s degree in Flute Performance at Indiana University Jacob’s School of Music, where she studied with Thomas Robertello. She is grateful to have received additional instruction from Leone Buyse, Jim Walker, Lorna McGhee, and Barthold Kuijken.

Jocelyn is the recipient of the MSFO Scholarship in Memory of Allen and Elizabeth Wood and the A. Chace Anderson Fine and Performing Arts Scholarship.
