Andrew Jun Chen, 23 years old, began studying the piano at age 8 with Dr. Frederick Kuok. Andrew is a prizewinner in numerous competitions, including the American Protege International Competition, Chopin Competition of Hartford Connecticut, Bradshaw & Buono International Piano Competition, YWCA New York Music Competition, International Young Artist Piano Competition in Washington D.C., Ithaca College Solo and Concerto competitions, Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts Concerto Competition, Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center Young Musicians Competition, MTNA Chamber Music String Performance Competition, Chautauqua Piano Competition, Thousand Islands International Piano Competition, and MTNA Stecher and Horowitz Competition for Two Pianos. Andrew was also a finalist of the 10th New York International Piano Competition. Andrew was established in the Genesee Piano Trio in 2019. In May 2022, Andrew was a recipient of the 2022 John Celentano Award for Excellence in Chamber Music from the Eastman School of Music. Andrew enjoys serving as a TA Instructor for piano for non-majors (PNO 130) at the New England Conservatory. Andrew has taken masterclasses with esteemed pedagogues including Peter Frankl, Gary Graffman, Boris Slutsky, Jon Nakamatsu, and Natalya Antonova. Andrew graduated with his bachelor’s degree from the Eastman School of Music, studying under Alexander Kobrin. He is currently pursuing his master’s degree at the New England Conservatory studying under HaeSun Paik
