Rachel Lawton, a violinist from Wichita, Kansas, is pursuing a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance at Vanderbilt University’s Blair School of Music under the tutelage of Carolyn Huebl. In 2019, Rachel won the Steven Paul Wunsch Award, and in 2020 she won first place in the Youth Talent Competition held by the Wichita Symphony Youth Orchestras Program. She is also a two-time recipient of the Koch Cultural Trust Enabling Grant. Rachel has had the honor of playing in masterclasses for Brian Lewis, Edgar Meyer, and the Ivalas String Quartet. In Wichita, Rachel studied with Allison R. Peterson and Valerie Sullivan.
Rachel is the recipient of The John B. Yoder Music Scholarship, and The Reed Family Scholarship.
