Matthew Musachio
Violin

Born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, violinist Matthew Musachio now lives in Chicago as a performer and teacher. He began his collegiate study at Oberlin College and Conservatory and then continued his education at University of Maryland, College Park, where he graduated with his bachelor of music degree. In 2023, he was conferred his master of music degree in violin performance from the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University. His primary teachers have been Almita Vamos and Cornelius Chiu of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. As an orchestral musician, Matt holds positions with the South Bend Symphony Orchestra and Civic Orchestra of Chicago as a regular member; he also has performed with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra. Past festival experience includes Interlochen Center for the Arts, Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival, National Music Festival and Red Rocks Winter Institute. This summer marks his second appearance at Chautauqua. Outside of the concert hall, Matt maintains a private studio of young violinists, and teaches privately at the British International School of South Loop, Chicago.

Matthew is the recipient of The William Cole/King Scholarship, the Harris Scholarship for Performing Arts, and The Carnahan-Jackson Scholarship Fund.
