Ari H. Scott is a cellist and composer based in the Chicago area. Currently holding a Master's in Music from DePaul University, she performs regularly across the States and composes for various instrumentations. In the realm of chamber music, Ari Scott prolifically performs in a variety of instrumentations and repertoire. In the past year, Scott has performed works such as Ginastera’s String Quartet, Britten’s Phantasy for String Quintet, and many others. In her last solo recital, she programmed the works of Stravinsky, Barber, and Francaix. Scott can also be found performing with many different orchestras, including several concerts with the Illinois Symphony in the past season. She has also served as Assistant Principal with the DePaul Symphony Orchestra and Principal Cellist for DePaul's Opera Theatre in its past cycle. In addition to Chautauqua, she has also performed with the Texas Music Festival Orchestra as principal in 2022. In addition to music performance, Ari Scott also composes for a wealth of styles and instrumentations, ranging from cello quartets to electroacoustic soundtrack music. Ari is the recipient of the Chautauqua Women's Club General Scholarship, The Daley Family Fund, and The Carnahan-Jackson Scholarship Fund.
