Kevin Skinkis is a trumpet player from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Kevin will be perusing a Professional Studies Diploma degree at the Cleveland Institute of Music, studying under Michael Sachs, Principal Trumpet, Cleveland Orchestra, starting fall 2023. Kevin is a graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Music with a Master’s degree in trumpet performance from the studio of Michael Sachs and Michael Miller of the Cleveland Orchestra. During his studies at cim, Kevin has appeared in the cim orchestra as rotating principal trumpet as well as brass chamber ensembles. For his undergraduate studies, Kevin has earned his Bachelor’s of music in trumpet performance from Duquesne University, studying under Chad Winkler of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. Kevin has also performed as a guest with the Pittsburgh Symphony Brass Quintet, Louisville Orchestra and Brass Quintet, as well as the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra.
Kevin is the recipient of the Hilda Jo Anne Milham Scholarship, the Glenn G. Vance Music Scholarship Fund, and The Fayette S. Olmstead Foundation Scholarship.
