Xiaowen started playing the piano at 6 years old. She went to the Middle School attached to Shenyang Conservatory, where she studied with Ms.Ying Guo. After six years of training under Ms.Guo, she traveled to the US to continue her study under Dr. Daniela Mineva at Humboldt State University. Xiaowen has frequently performed with Humboldt Symphony and played many recitals at Morris Graves Museum of Art in Eureka. She is currently a first year master’s student at University of North Texas, in Dr. Pamela Mia Paul's studio.

Xiaowen is the recipient of The Steve and Barb Landay Scholarship, Don & Kathleen Greenhouse Scholarship, and the Mary Chenoweth Wright Scholarship Endowment
