Grace Tubbs
Piano

Originally from Bloomington, Indiana, pianist Grace Tubbs is entering her fourth year studying under Stanislav Ioudenitch at Oberlin Conservatory as a recipient of the Dean’s Scholarship. She has received distinguished awards in competitions including the MTNA Auditions, National Society of Arts and Letters Piano Competition, Steinway Young Artist Competition, and Carmel Klavier International Piano Competition. Grace has attended music festivals such as Rebecca Penneys Piano Festival, MusicFest Perugia, Vivace Piano Festival, and Semper Music International Festival, as well as performed in venues including Carnegie Hall, Auer Hall at Indiana University, and the Palladium in Carmel, Indiana. She has received private instruction from renowned artists including Lydia Artymiw, Arnaldo Cohen, William Grant Naboré, Ursula Oppens, Antonio Pompa-Baldi, and Boris Slutsky, as well as participated in the masterclasses of Eduardo Delgado, Christopher Harding, and Marina Lomazov, among many others. Along with her piano performance concentration at Oberlin, Grace is pursuing a minor in organ performance under Dr. Jonathan Moyer. Before entering Oberlin, her previous piano instructors were Roberto Plano, Dr. Karen Taylor, Dr. Anthony Weinstein, and Irina Gorin. In her spare time, Grace enjoys reading, playing intramural soccer, volunteering at church events, and playing chamber music with friends.

Grace is the recipient of the NFMC-Pennsylvania Federation Award, The Ellen and James M. Barton Memorial Music Scholarship, and the Eleanor B. Daugherty Scholarship Fund.
