Eboni LaTay Edwards
Dancer

Eboni LaTay Edwards. Dancer, choreographer, actor, and artist. Her vibrational stage presence has been felt in several states across the country and overseas in Japan. She made her Broadway debut in Billy Elliot the Musical at the young age of 7, originating and closing the role of Angela Robson, a Ballet Girl. She worked with Director Stephen Daldry, Composer Elton John, and Choreographer Peter Darling at the Imperial Theatre for 3 ½ years. She performed live in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and on Broadway in Bryant Park with the cast of Billy (2009). Later, she was seen in Dorrance Dance’s “The Blues Project” at the Schomburg Center (2014) and with Debbie Allen Dance Academy at the Special Olympics Opening Ceremony in the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum (2015). Other performance credits include The Los Angeles Tap Festival (2015), “The Series” at the Alvin Ailey City Center (2017), Philadelphia Youth Dance Fest at Drexel University (2018), The All American Goddess Pageant (2022), and The Ohio Black Expo (2022).

Eboni has been an integral part of annual dance concerts and recitals at her studio Five Star Dance Center, where she studied ballet, tap, African diaspora, modern, jazz, and hip-hop, and at The Academy for Visual & Performing Arts with a Theatre Concentration, where she choreographed solo and group works. She also trained at Nunbetter Dance Theatre, Earl Mosely’s Institute of the Arts, and Titans of Dance Convention, where she received the Shield of Excellence Scholarship (2017). She was a principal dancer in The Alison Owusu ExperienceD ance Company and worked as a member of the Bambara African Drum and Dance Ensemble in NYC (2019).

Eboni currently studies Dance and Psychology at The Ohio State University as a Morrill Scholar and serves as the Vice President for ZUVAA Afro-Caribbean Dancers, a student organization at OSU. Here, she performs in annual Faculty Concerts, African Night, Student Work Showcases, and MFA works in the Barnett Theatre, The Ohio Union, and Urban Arts Space (OSU). She also trains and performs with Thiossane West African Dance Institute Performing Company in Columbus, Ohio.
