Dr. Betsey Hofeldt
Dayton Philharmonic Youth Strings Conductor

Dr. Betsey Hofeldt received her Bachelor of Music Education degree from St. Olaf College, Minnesota, and her Master of Music degree in violin performance from the University of Illinois, Urbana. She earned her doctoral degree in violin performance from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. Since 1988, Dr. Hofeldt has been a member of the violin section of the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra. Prior to joining the DPO, she performed with orchestras in Virginia, Ohio and Nebraska.  

In addition to her orchestral career, Dr. Hofeldt is an avid performer of chamber music. Along with her husband, cellist Mark Hofeldt, Dr. Hofeldt has performed throughout the Miami Valley in the Hofeldt Phillips Piano Trio for over two decades. Dr. Hofeldt maintains a private studio in Oakwood and was formerly on the faculty of Wittenberg University as a violin and viola instructor.
