Ahmad Simmons
Choreographer

Ahmad Simmons is a proud Fort Worth, Texas, native currently working in NYC as a director, choreographer, producer, and performing artist.  He has appeared on stage and screen in Fosse/Verdon (FX Networks), Maestro (Netflix), Better Nate Than Ever (Disney+), Dirty Dancing (ABC), the Tony Awards, the Kennedy Center Honors, and the Broadway companies of Illinoise (OBC), Hadestown (OBC), West Side Story, Carousel, Cats. Choreographic work includes Hamilton (Philip Tour - Resident Choreographer), Hadestown (Associate Choreographer), The Boxer by Matt Lyle, a blues-infused adaptation of Lorca’s Blood Wedding, and original works Thirty Thousand One and THEM (Chicago DanceMakers Forum Lab Artist Award).  His choreography has also been performed by River North Dance Chicago, Thodos Dance Chicago, Visceral Dance Chicago, Eisenhower Dance Detroit, DanceWorks Chicago, and several performing arts organizations and programs across the country.   Ahmad is a founding member of Black Broadway Men Inc. and the co-founder of Arterial Projects - a NYC-based producing practice for theater, film, and digital media.
