I am from Henderson KY and will be graduating from Henderson County High School this May (2022). I began playing the oboe in sixth grade and immediately fell in love with it. I have studied, not only with my school music teachers, but have been lucky enough to receive lessons from Dr. Elizabeth Robertson, First Oboe with the Evansville Philharmonic, and Dr. Edwin Lacy, Emeritus Professor of Music at the University of Evansville. I will be attending the University of Evansville's Music Conservatory this Fall studying Music Therapy and Music Education. I want to share my love of music with young people and let them know how music can change their lives for the better.
At school: Prom Committee, Marching Band (drumline), Jazz Band, Wind Ensemble, Indoor Competitive Percussion Group, Pep Band. I am in Army JROTC with the rank of Second Lieutenant and was on the Competitive Rifle Team. I am a member of the Henderson County High School Archery Team. I have competed in local, regional, national and world archery competitions. I have volunteered with Habitat for Humanity landscaping their new homes in Henderson, and worked with the Henderson Breast Cancer Awareness group. I won a Blue Ribbon at the KY State Fair for Horticulture. Many thanks to the Evansville Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, Dr. Chen and Chaz Ritenour, for giving me the opportunity, over the past two years, to play my music at a much higher level.
