Bill Hemminger is retired from teaching English, French and Russian at the University of Evansville. He has published poetry, essays, and short fiction, along with academic essays and translations. A recipient of three Fulbright awards, he has worked and taught in Madagascar, Cameroon, Senegal, and El Salvador. He won a 1994 Syndicated Fiction Writers Prize. He is also a composer and classically trained pianist, and he sang for years in the Evansville Philharmonic Chorus, His wife Jill is still an active member of the Chorus.
Until recently Bill wrote EP Classics concert reviews for the Evansville Courier & Press, he conducts the pre-concert interviews as a volunteer, he writes program notes for the Classics program books, and he is co-host of the EP’s Podcast:”Inside the Music.”
