Her idea for a story based on the lives of soldaderas in the Mexican Revolution, La Capitana, led her to win IU's Innovation Competition in 2017. Her latest project, La Gloria will be a collaboration with her co-librettist and friend Nancy De Los Santos and composer David Reyes. Most recently, she was honored to be included in Fort Worth Opera's Frontiers Libretto Workshop, in which sections of her original opera libretto, Higueras, were read lives and critiqued by a panel of creative leaders in the operatic field.
