Tilen Mejia
Clarinet/Saxophone/Flute

Castle High School

Clarinet, saxophone, flute (non-ensemble)

I joined the EPYO during my junior year, and it’s by far the most rewarding decision I have made. Being able to play the saxophone in an orchestra is a dream come true, and the mentorship brought out more of why I want to do music in the first place--by giving back what was given to me. By being able to play some selections that I got to play in the Indiana All-State Orchestra, it was nice to see the music from a different perspective. I love playing in orchestra because it gives me a chance not only to be able to play advanced repertoire at my age but to connect with people, and create a firm belief of what I think music is: Music is defined by Compassion, Mentorship, Business, Dedication, Leadership, and Creativity. I thank all my teachers from the past and present to get me where I am today, to enhance my potential. For 2024-2025, I plan to study at the University of Evansville to be able to study clarinet and saxophone performance, alongside with a minor in psychology and Spanish.
