Sean Cavanaugh
Piano

Pianist Sean Cavanaugh currently serves as adjunct faculty at Vincennes University, where he teaches a wide variety of music courses in the Performing Arts Department. Sean completed his masters and doctorate in piano performance from the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University, where he studied with the late Karen Shaw. While at Indiana University, Sean specialized in several large works, including Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition and Bach’s Goldberg Variations. A frequent performer and chamber musician, Sean frequently performs alongside colleagues in a variety of chamber music settings, most recently the complete cycle of sonatas for violin and piano by Beethoven, along with his duo partner Nathaniel Shapiro. Sean currently lives in Vincennes Indiana, with his partner Kait and their two cats, Penny and Luka.
