Kenny G

Kenny G is one of the best-selling instrumentalists of all time with sales topping 75 million records. Born Kenneth Gorelick in Seattle, Washington, he was inspired to start playing saxophone after seeing a performance on the Ed Sullivan Show; it was then that he picked up the same instrument for the first time at ten years old. Upon entering high school, Kenny tried out for the jazz band but failed.

Determined to succeed, he spent countless hours perfecting his craft and came back earning first chair. Shortly after graduating high school, Kenny played saxophone professionally for Barry White’s Love Unlimited Orchestra in 1973. Kenny signed with Artista Records in 1982 as a solo artist after Clive David heard his rendition of “Dancing Queen” by ABBA. Kenny’s career would skyrocket after the release of his fourth solo album, “Duotones” in 1986.

Kenny has performed at the White House for President Bill Clinton, governors, and members of the cabinet. His music is as memorable as it is unique. The New Yorker says of the artist, Kenny G pursues something like perfection both in and out of music.”  In 2020, Kenny was featured on a remix of the popular song “In Your Eyes” by fellow artist, the Weeknd. His latest album, “New Standards” was released in 2021 and he continues to collaborate with different artists, sharing his skill for all to enjoy.
