Dr. Raymond Jones is Virginia’s senior classical music broadcaster, filling the airwaves with music for 62 years, 40 of those on WHRO-FM. He is a native of Hampton Roads and holds six college degrees including his doctorate from Virginia Tech with post-doctoral study at Exeter College, Oxford. He has narrated with many orchestras including the Boston Pops, the Virginia Symphony and Symphonicity. He has also been the voice of the Virginia International Tattoo for 25 years and has narrated for the US Army TRADOC Band for 29 years. He can be heard on several CDs including the Washington Pops and the US Air Force Heritage of America Band.
