Jason Parker
Tenor

Sponsored by Whatcom Chorale Tenor Section

Jason Parker has been a resident of Bellingham, Washington, since 2014 and is currently the director of choirs at Squalicum High School and Shuksan Middle School.  He also serves as the artistic director of Theatre Arts at Squalicum.

Prior to his position in Bellingham, Mr. Parker spent 10 years as choir director and technical theatre director at Apollo High School in St Cloud, MN.  During that time he was a highly sought after soloist and performer, appearing as featured soloist with ensembles such as Great River Chorale, Minnesota Center Chorale, and the Bella Voce Consort, as well as a church-based vocal quartet called 5th Voice. A versatile singer, Mr. Parker has performed solos and recitals representing a broad range of repertoire. He has had the great opportunity to perform as tenor soloist in Handel’s Messiah, Gounod’s St Cecilia’s Mass, and Mozart’s Requiem, as well as several Bach cantatas. Jason has also performed in multiple opera and musical theatre performances in both leading and chorus roles, but his true love is the German lieder of Schumann, Schubert, and Brahms.

Mr. Parker is thrilled to be joining Whatcom Chorale for this performance of Messiah and looks forward to making much more music here in the future!
