Florence M. Jowers is retired from teaching at Lenoir-Rhyne University, Hickory, NC, and currently serves area churches as a substitute organist. She is one of the founders of Bach Around the Clock while she was Director of Music at Christ Lutheran Church, Staunton.
Fantasia and Fugue in C minor, BWV 537
Organist-choirmaster, bass, and composer Gabriel Rhys Simerson has since 2024 been Director of Music Ministries at St. Paul's, Ivy, where he plays the 2005 Schoenstein organ, oversees a growing music program for children and adults, founded the St. Paul's Ivy Concert Series, initiated biweekly choral evensongs, and created the professional Schola Cantorum. An avid Sacred Harp singer, he will serve as Chairman of the newly restored Charlottesville All-Day Sacred Harp Singing in May. Simerson is a Choir Master of the American Guild of Organists and his compositions are to be released by ECS Publishing in late 2026.

Larry M. Smith is the current Director of Music at Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Greenwood, VA, where he just celebrated his 20th year. Previously he served St. Matthias Episcopal in Midlothian and Boulevard United Methodist in Richmond. He is married to Jennifer A. Smith.

Barbara Taylor Moore holds a B. A. in Music (Piano and Organ) from Mary Washington College and a M. Mus. in Organ Performance from Baylor University. She teaches piano and organ privately and at UVA and is Organist at University Baptist Church. She is active in the American Guild of Organists, the Wednesday Music Club, and the Charlottesville Music Teachers Association.
Concerto in A minor, BWV 593
Choral Director, organist and collaborative pianist Virginia Bolena has served as Organist and Director of Music at Trinity Episcopal Church since 2013. During her tenure, Virginia has significantly grown the chorister program, directed the choirs during two UK cathedral residencies, overseen the purchase of a Taylor & Boody continuo organ, and organized a regular concert series. Notable upcoming engagements include a performance on the L’Organo series that coincides with the Piccolo Spoleto Festival in Charleston, SC, and an organ concert featuring music by all-female composers on the ArtsLIVE! Festival in Fredericksburg, VA. She has performed for the American Institute of Organbuilders and the American Pipe Organ Builders Association. Past recital venues include Saint Thomas Church, NYC; Oxford Town Hall, UK; and Interlochen Center for the Arts. A dedicated member of the organ community, Virginia serves on the board of the local American Guild of Organists chapter. She performs regularly with the Staunton Music Festival. Virginia has participated in the Virginia Baroque Academy and plans to attend the Noordbroek Organ Academy in the Netherlands later this year.
