Jonathan Bolena, a senior at Woodberry Forest School, serves as Organ Scholar in the school’s chapel and also as Interim Organist and Choirmaster at St. Paul’s Episcopal, Ivy. Jon recently earned Associateship of the Royal College of Organists, one of few Americans to hold this title. Prior to Woodberry, he attended Saint Thomas Choir School in New York City, singing in the world-renowned Choir of Men and Boys. Jon will return to St. Thomas Fifth Avenue in the fall of 2024 to serve as the inaugural Organ Scholar.

William Polhill is currently the Organist and Music Director for Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Staunton. He received his Master of Music degree from the North Carolina School of the Arts studying organ with Dr. Jack Mitchener and choral conducting with James Albritten.

Alexander Johnson is Director of Music at Christ Episcopal Church in Charlottesville and is also the co-director of the historically informed chamber group Ars Memoria. He is a Choir Master (ChM) and Colleague (CAGO) of the American Guild of Organists and serves on the board of the Charlottesville-Albemarle chapter of the Guild.

Florence Jowers, and Louise Temple-Rosebrook are both retired professors–Florence from the Music Department of Lenoir-Rhyne University, and Louise from James Madison University’s Department of Integrated Science and Technology. Both continue to substitute in various churches. Louise also serves as assistant organist at Trinity Episcopal Church in Staunton.

Virginia Bolena serves as Organist and Director of Music at Trinity Episcopal, Staunton, directing children’s, youth, and adult choirs. She also performs in the community as a collaborative pianist, including performances with the Heifetz String Institute and the Staunton Music Festival. She has performed for the Organ Historical Society, played organ recitals in such notable venues as Saint Thomas Church, New York City, Oxford Town Hall, United Kingdom, and Interlochen Center for the Arts, Michigan.

Joel VanderZee studied engineering and music composition before completing a Master of Music in Organ Performance at Western Michigan University. He later earned a Fellowship Diploma from the Royal Canadian College of Organists. Joel is Music Director and Organist at Grace Episcopal Church, Keswick, and works for Taylor and Boody Organbuilders in all aspects of the trade.

Roger Daggy (BM, MM, Northwestern University) is Director of Music/Organist at First Presbyterian Church in his hometown of Waynesboro. His previously held positions include Director of Music/Organist at Calvary Moravian Church in Winston-Salem, NC and Organist at the Parish of St. Matthew in Pacific Palisades, CA. Mr. Daggy is thankful to have played services and concerts in the UK, Europe (Hungary, Czech Republic, Germany, Ireland) and the US (Los Angeles, Chicago, Atlanta, Greensboro).
