Johann Sebastian Bach is known for such iconic masterpieces as the B minor Mass, The Toccata and Fugue in D minor, the St. Matthew Passion, the Chaconne in D minor, … the list goes on. Yet Bach is one of the very first composers whose music is introduced to aspiring musicians, picking up an instrument for the very first time. And the imperative to teach is a constant in his life and compositional output. In this program, members of the Heifetz Ensemble in Residence share stories and music of their introductions, to the world of Bach and their instruments.
