Mark Kaplan is one of the foremost violinists of his generation. He has appeared as soloist with most major American and European orchestras and under such conductors as Lorin Maazel, Kurt Masur, and Leonard Slatkin. He is also devoted to chamber music and appears with pianist Yael Weiss and cellist Peter Stumpf as the Weiss-Kaplan-Stumpf Trio, with recordings and concert tours worldwide. Formerly he performed and recorded extensively in the Golub-Kaplan-Carr trio, with cellist Colin Carr and the late pianist David Golub. Mr. Kaplan is Professor of Violin at Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music and is a graduate of Juilliard.
