Fernanda Ghi and Silvio Grand
Dancers

World-renowned dancers and choreographers Fernanda Ghi and Silvio Grand both started their tango careers almost 25 years ago. Their artistry developed independently until they were brought together by their love of tango, the magic of Buenos Aires milongas, and the unique thrill of authentic tango theatre productions. Fernanda’s own dance companies have toured the US, Japan and China. Silvio’s art stems from a background in theatre and television, and has shone in celebrated theatres such as The Kremlin Palace Theatre, St. Petersburg Musical Komedy Theatre and Luna Park in Buenos Aires.

Tony Award winner Fernanda Ghi has performed in countless shows and exhibitions. She and her partner were the first non-Asian dancers ever invited to perform at the Imperial Theatre in Tokyo, and were the feature dancers on the PBS special Tango Magic with Pablo Ziegler and the Orpheus Orchestra. Ghi has performed with several symphony orchestras such as New Mexico, Long Beach, and Cincinnati, and was commissioned with the creation of a tango ballet for the Tulsa Ballet Oklahoma. Fernanda served as a judge at the Mundial de Tango, the world competition for Argentine Tango. Her Boston-based academy trains amateur and professional dancers.

Silvio Grand starred in the musical Dreams About Tango in the State Komedy Theatre of St. Petersburg and the musical Piazzolla Passion of Tango in the Kremlin Palace Theatre and BKZ concert hall. Silvio was also the director of the dance committee that represented Argentina at the 200 Years of Independence Festival, with Nestor Marconi and the Philharmonic Orchestra of Jalisco. Silvio was a dancer and choreographer of the musical Piazzolla Tango - En Tus Ojos, presented throughout Europe. He was a dancer of the company of Juan Carlos Copes, and performed with many orchestras such as Color Tango, Beba Publiese, Orquesta Silencio, Camara da Vinci, Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra, among others.
