Luke Woodle is a New York based drummer and educator originally from Seattle, Washington. His passion for music started at an early age fostered by a family of musicians and incredible mentors. Graduating from the University of Southern California Thornton School of Music in Los Angeles, California with an undergraduate (2019) and masters degree (2021), he has worked with countless musicians including Sullivan Fortner, Louis Cole, Felly, Georgia Webster, the New York Voices, Pat Coil, Pat Bergeson, Joel Frahm, the Bob Mintzer Big Band, Vince Mendoza, Ricky and Paul Peterson, and Luciana Souza. He has studied with some of the world's greatest drummers and composers including Peter Erskine, Roy McCurdy, Ndugu Chancler, Will Kennedy, Aaron Serfaty, Vince Mendoza, Alan Pasqua, Russ Ferrante, and Bill Platt.
In 2021, Luke moved to Nashville, Tennessee, where he performed regularly at venues across the city, including Rudy’s Jazz Room, Skull’s Rainbow Room, Ascend Amphitheater, The Basement East, The Nashville Jazz Workshop, and recorded at studios such as Ocean Way, Treasure Isle, Dark Horse Recording Studios, The Studio Nashville, and many more. Immersed in the city’s vibrant music scene, he continued to refine his craft before relocating to New York City in 2024. In New York, he performs and tours in addition to being a dedicated educator, working with Jazz Empowers and maintaining a private studio for both online and in-person students of all ages.
