Robert Lomax
Vocalist

Robert Lomax was born and raised in Erie, Pennsylvania. At the early age of five, Robert sang around the house, listening to the radio every Sunday morning, while his family prepared for church.  Gospel music was the first program he listened to, which was always followed by uplifting Classical music.  He began to mimic these melodious voices. These were the tonal vibes, which inspired Robert Lomax to become a renowned Vocalist.

His performance credits include the Cincinnati Opera, Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Cincinnati May Festival, Northern Kentucky Symphony, and Erie Philharmonic. Lead roles include Fernando in Cosi Fan Tutte, Tamino in the Magic Flute, Rodolfo in La Boheme, Lenski in Eugene Onegin and soloist with the Classical Roots Chorus. Robert appeared with the CSO May Festival as soloist (“Preacher”) in the Bernstein Mass, May 19, 2018

Mr. Lomax holds a BM degree from Mercyhurst College, and did post-graduate work at the University of Cincinnati’s College Conservatory of Music. Honors include an award from New York’s Metropolitan Opera, and two Patricia Corbett Graduate Student Scholarships.  He has served as Director of the NAACP National Convention Choir, Music Director for the Greater Cincinnati Emmaus Community, and has been active in music ministry at Bethlehem Temple Apostolic Church, Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church (Erie, PA), Christ Emmanuel Christian Fellowship and Morning Star Baptist Church (Cincinnati).

Robert Lomax serves on the board of directors for the Cincinnati May Festival and the Building Diverse Audiences Advisory Committee (BDAAC) with the Cincinnati Arts Association.

In addition to his Classical music, Robert enjoys using his tenor voice singing Spirituals, Gospel and Contemporary Christian music. He resides in Cincinnati with his wife Justine.
