“Vee” is no stranger to music, theater or television. You may have watched her on CBS belting it out as a three-time Amateur Night Winner on Showtime At the Apollo, on BET as a featured unsigned artist on comedian Rickey Smiley’s The Way We Do It, or on The Bobby Jones Gospel show. A SAG-AFTRA member with three national theatrical tours to her credit, she has shared the stage with Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Demond Wilson (of the TV sitcom Sanford & Son) and John Gray to name a few. Strong, compelling vocals, an exceptional acting ability and deep multicultural roots have led to her portrayal of many diverse, emotionally complex characters including Lady in Blue in Shange’s For Colored Girls… and various roles in a short run of Hansberry’s A Raisin In the Sun. In 2009 she was invited to audition for Tyler Perry and was strongly considered for a leading role in the production Laugh to Keep from Crying which she would later be bumped for by a national recording artist.
Around the Tri-State area, “Vee” has performed with some of the finest artists and musicians, often appearing as an opening act for the Macy’s/P&G Music Festival (2013-2015). In 2016, “Vee” opened for three national acts as a part of the Friday flow free summer concert series at Washington Park.
"Vee" has been a premiere lead vocalist with many bands, including: 2nd Wind, The Phixx Band and The Bluewater Kings, an International Musicians League affiliated professional band.
Currently, “Vee’s” greatest joy is serving at Crossroads Mason as a Worship Leader on a rotating schedule.
“Vee” will not stop until she reaches that one true break-out opportunity.
Her aura is captured by her quote, “I have a gift and it’s up to me to be responsible with it. Whether I touch one or one million – it doesn’t matter to me- as long as I touch peoples’ lives for the better.”
