Welcome to Hearts in the Park, where purpose meets potential, and every individual is respected for their unique abilities!
The Park is not limited to a greenspace, or a playground used for recreation; but Hearts in the Park refers to any place where our loved ones with a disability interact in the community in which they live. Hearts may be of different size, shape, and needs, but ALL deserve to reach their full potential while also being acknowledged, respected and loved.
Our goal is to Acknowledge, Appreciate, Nurture, Respect, and show Love toward youth and young adults ages birth to 22 years with a cognitive, intellectual, physical, or developmental disability. At the heart of our mission is a commitment to fostering inclusive and enriching community experiences that transcend all barriers.
Our vision revolves around creating a world where diversity is acknowledged and respected while an awareness to the disability community is also lifted. At Hearts in the Park, we sponsor various community activities and events that provide the opportunity for interaction of our loved ones with disabilities within the community. We strive to make lasting memories for our families by collaborating with businesses, schools, organizations, restaurants, and the wider community to offer sensory-friendly experiences that accommodate the needs of our loved ones with a disability. Hearts in the Park also focuses on the bond of siblings, cousins, and friends by providing opportunities for connection as we recognize the importance of building a village around our loved ones. We also extend ourselves as a resource providing emergency financial assistance to parents and caregivers for extenuating circumstances in the time of need.
At Hearts in the Park, we consider ourselves to be a central hub; a Mecca for cultivating a culture of love and respect for people with disabilities. We are dedicated to being a safe space for youth and young adults with disabilities and their families to connect, support, and encourage one another. We believe in the power of community, and through our five pillars: Acknowledgment, Appreciation, Nurturing, Respect, and Love; we are committed to making a difference in the lives of those we serve.
Join us in building a community where everyone, regardless of ability, can thrive, connect, and find support! Hearts in the Park is more than an organization; it's a movement toward a more inclusive and understanding world.
