I have been an IPO concertgoer for close to forty years and have served six terms on the Board of Directors. Previously, I served for several years on the Board of the Chicago Heights Symphony after having attended their concerts as a child.
My love of music was kindled 70 years ago when I began piano lessons. Those were followed by a few years of oboe and English horn. I am thrilled to be back on stage with an orchestra for the first time since high school, especially with Mike Rogers conducting, since he taught both of my sons and conducted their school orchestras. However, neither piano, nor woodwinds, nor 50 plus years of practicing law prepared me for reading and following a percussion part. I am grateful to the professional percussionists for sharing their space with me.
