Christopher Humbert, Jr. (Baritone) Akron, Ohio native Christopher Humbert, Jr. is a member of the Ryan Opera Center ensemble and has made appearances as a featured soloist with some of the most prolific national performing arts organizations including Minnesota Orchestra, Palm Beach Opera, Des Moines Metro Opera, Florida Grand Opera, Detroit Opera, Boston Lyric Opera and Lyric Opera of Chicago, with which he makes his debut in this seasons’ productions of Rigoletto (Count Ceprano), Fidelio (2nd Prisoner), and Blue (3rd Police Buddy). In the spring of 2020, Humbert made his Carnegie Hall debut with Manhattan Concert Productions in the performance of Ralph Vaughan WIlliams’ Dona Nobis Pacem. Recently named one of the recipients of the Richard F. Gold Career Grant, an honor bestowed upon emerging artists with great promise of an operatic career, Humbert was also named a winner of the Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition St. Louis, Missouri District. Other competition credits include the American Opera Society of Chicago Distinguished Male Voice Award (2024), First place award in Opera Guild of Dayton’s Tri-State Vocal Competition (2019) and multiple first palace awards in classical music and musical theater categories from the National Association of Teachers of Singing. Humbert was selected to join Opera Theatre Saint Louis during the 2020 season as a Gerdine Young Artist.
