Jackson Basler is a senior at Maryville High School where he plays the Trombone under the direction of Adam Ford and private instructor Sam Chen. This is Jackson’s first year with the Knoxville Symphony Youth Orchestra, although he has been a member of the Knoxville Jazz Youth Orchestra for two years. While at Maryville High School, Jackson has participated in ETSBOA All-East all four years and TMEA All-State in 2022. This fall he plans to attend the University of Alabama as a National Merit Scholar recipient. With this scholarship, Jackson can attend for five years while studying engineering. He is looking forward to performing with the Million Dollar Marching Band while he pursues his studies in Chemical Engineering. Outside of school and music, he enjoys cooking and hopes to improve at it.
