Joshua Allen, tenor, has performed in Opera, Oratorio, and Classic Musical Theatre, as soloist in Large Concert works with such names as the Metropolitan Opera's Claudia Waite, Handel’s Messiah with members of the North Carolina Symphony Orchestra, and the Nashville Opera Company. Roles include Middlemarch in Spring (Will), Il ritorno di Ulisse in Patria (Ulisse), Maria Stuarda (Earl of Leicester), The Pajama Game (Sid), Gianni Schicchi (Maestro Spinelloccio), Bye Bye Birdie (Conrad Birdie), Sweeney Todd (Tobias), HMS Pinafore (Ralph Rackstraw), The Consul (Nika Magadoff), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Flute), Le Nozze di Figaro (Basilio) and Albert Herring (Mr. Upfold). Professional affiliations include studying under the tutelage of David Jones, Terrence Mann, Charlotte d'Amboise & Christopher d'Amboise, John Wustman, and coached with Arlene Shrut. Joshua has appeared in masterclass with David Jones, Victoria Livengood, John Wustman, George Shirley, Julianne Baird, Nathan Gunn, John Van Cura, Joan Lader, Gran Wilson, and Anne Azéma. Joshua is a graduate of the University of Tennessee where he studied with Mrs. Marjorie Stephens, and holds undergraduate degrees in Music Education and Vocal Performance from East Carolina University.
