Born circa 245 AD, Santa Claus, sometimes known as "Saint Nicholas" or "Kris Kringle," has been busy overseeing his elfin-staffed North Pole workshop and distributing toys to children for centuries. In 1823, a poem by Clement Moore beginning "Twas the night before Christmas..." launched Santa into the public eye, and he has enjoyed large popularity ever since. He has appeared in publications across the world, as well as making countless appearances on television and in feature films such as "Miracle on 34th Street" and "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer," among others.
In light of the fact that Santa Claus has one of the busiest schedules of any known figure during the Holiday Season, he always makes it a priority to visit the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra for the Clayton Holiday Concerts each year.
