Roxanne Farahi is a senior at Oak Ridge High School. She has played the violin for nine years, and this is her second season in the Knoxville Symphony Youth Orchestra Association. She was awarded the Silverman Scholarship for music lessons in 2021 and 2022. Roxanne studies under Zofia Glashauser, concertmaster of the South Bend Orchestra and member of the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra. Roxanne has participated in ETSBOA All East and All. State for three years. Outside of music, she is involved in Girl Scouts, community service, math tutoring, and First Robotics. She also has interest in coding, art, and Amigurumi crocheting. Roxanne plans to pursue a degree in the biomedical sciences at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and continue her musical studies. She plans to attend medical school to become a pediatric reconstructive plastic surgeon. Roxanne would like to thank Maestro Fellenbaum, Kathy Hart, and the KSYOA for the opportunity to play with such a talented group of musicians.
