SUSAN EMERSON is an award-winning actress who has appeared Off- Broadway, on Broadway tours and in top regional theaters around the country. She appeared in the national tour of Phantom of the Opera as Mme. Giry, and stood by for Petula Clark as Norma Desmond in the national tour of Sunset Boulevard. Off- Broadway she received critical acclaim as Cordelia in The Portable Pioneer and Prairie Show, and was seen in City Center Encores’ The Boys from Syracuse, and as Sr. Mary Leo in Nunsense II. Regional credits include HMS Pinafore at Baltimore Center Stage; Elmer Gantry at Ford’s Theatre; I’m Not Rappaport starring Ben Vereen and Nehemiah Persoff at Theatre-on-the- Square in San Francisco; Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? at Berkeley Repertory Theatre;
Woody Guthrie’s American Song (Bay Area Critics’ Circle Award) at San Jose and Berkeley Repertory Theatres; Hayfever at San Jose Rep; the Witch in Into the Woods (Dramalogue Award) at TheatreWorks – Silicon Valley; Fiddler on the Roof, Little Shop of Horrors, and Pippin at San Jose Civic Light Opera. Her one-woman show The Ripple Effect has raised over a quarter of a million dollars for not-for-profit agencies serving seniors, women and children.
