Music was the first thing Dan Radank heard. He was born in Milwaukee, Wis., on St Patrick’s Day 1977, the son of another St. Patrick’s baby – his mother, Patty. The local news heard about it and showed up to record her singing “Danny Boy” to Dan on their birthday. Dan’s father, Tom, was working as a professional trumpet player in Milwaukee when Dan was born and always had great jazz playing in the house. By age 11, Dan also had picked up the trumpet. Dan excelled in band through high school and earned a scholarship to the University of Louisville. After three
semesters, he left school to play professionally, joining a local group called Bobby J and the Flying Martinis. For four years they were a premiere group in the Louisville jazz scene playing many of the great standards and Sinatra classics.
Dan moved back to Cincinnati in 2007 and has been entertaining crowds with his special brand of vocals and trumpet since. Working with younger, up-and-coming musicians in venues such as the Blue Wisp, Memorial Hall, Caffe Vivace, Ghost Baby, and Hard Rock Café, Dan continues the traditions that make these hits an American staple.
