Cincinnati native, Matthew Anklan is a performer, educator, composer, producer and inventor. Matt plays regularly with The Cincinnati Contemporary Jazz Orchestra (CCJO), River City, and other local group and has performed and recorded with a range of national artists and groups including: The Who, Iron & Wine, Aretha Franklin, Gregory Porter, Frankie Valli, Tito Puente, Jr., Bootsy Collins, Gerald Wilson, The Glenn Miller Orchestra, The Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra (Pops), The Columbus Jazz Orchestra, Fred Hersch, Carnival Cruise Lines and many more. Matthew tours with Broadway shows, when time allows. His credits include the first national tour of Sister Act, Shrek the Musical, The Full Monty, Aladdin, and Irving Berlin’s White Christmas. Matthew Anklan also teaches trumpet at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Additionally, he is the Director of Education for the Cincinnati Contemporary Jazz Orchestra and works in conjunction with Jazz At Lincoln Center to present the Let Freedom Swing! educational series in the greater Cincinnati area. Matthew has had a number of his compositions featured in national advertising campaigns, and works actively in music production. As a studio musician, Matthew has recorded for several national networks, The Hallmark Channel, Disney, various cruise lines, and with national and international artists.
